Thread: aero spark plugs

    hi

    would like to know which spark plugs should be used in my 9/3 aero, 2001 model. i`m told i have to use ngk pfr6h-10...i have a black d.i. unit.

    thanks for any advice

    They are the preferred plug, yes, but you can use NGK BCPR7ES11 gapped to 1mm as long as you change them more frequently- I'd say 12000 miles max or ideally at 6000 when you change the oil & filter

    Not got my book with me at work, but those plugs look to be the right ones. They have platinum tips and cost a lot!!

    I believe that some tuners use the standard plugs from the 2.0 and 2.3 without problems. I think the platinum ones were specified to increase the life to match the service intervals, not for any performance issues. So if you want to use standard plugs at £2 each it could be cheaper than using the £10 plugs and changing them half as often.

    thanks for the info folks..............going to use the proper ones as i`ve sold the care and promised the buyer i`d service it for him. might as well get the best, so everyone`s happy.

    You often see the PFRs on eBay for around £20 for a set of 4, around half price.
