Hi, how do i put down the rear seats on my 2001 Convertible, the hand book gives no advice for the convertible....
Have the keys locked in the boot, so need to establish how i do this for when the locksmith gets here....
Thanks....
Richard.

Far as I'm aware you can't!
Not a convertible owner myself so not 100% but they're usually fixed.
Best of luck mate!

I think they must, but i only say that, as the hand book covers the manual operation of the softop should an electrical/motor problem occur, and step one is listed as: pull down rear seats to access boot area.
But that is as descriprive as it gets...lol

You can only drop the rear seat froward a little but you need the key to release it........
-
I have an 02 vert
On the rear seats there is a slot for your ignition key (my is located n/s next to the head rest) insert your key and unlock the rear seats, ensure you turn far enough to unlock both sides

Of course you won't be able to do this if you have locked the keys in the boot. Will check if it has to be the ignition key

Just checked mine out and only the ignition key will open it
Of course it could probably be forced, but not reccomended

Daft question, do verts not have internal boot release or ski flap?

Both sets of keys??
Do we know where the boot release solenoid wires run? perhaps you can pass current through them and open the boot that way. Anyone got a wiring diagram that could help isolate where the wires are, and which one to liven up?

Yes to both.
The boot release is a button on the drivers door but this will NOT work when the hood is down.
And when you drop the rear seats there is a ski flap

Not having a vert I didn't think of this excellent security feature! Ski flap I was thinking of is behind my centre armrest. How did you eventually get in?
