9000 Carlsson Stuttering

Hi there

My 1990 Mk1 9000 Carlsson seems to have a stutter around 2900 rpm, it also stutters around idle, is using alot of fuel and isnt as powerful as it should be. Where should I start? Vacuum hoses? DI rail? any advice!?

Check all the obvious (hoses, different DI if your fortunate enough to be able to borrow one) but look to see if you have the right NGK plugs i.e. whether you have BCPRES-6 or BCPRES-11 and if they're gapped correctly as this can make a huge difference, especially when under load.

Dredging this up as car back on road! Cheers. Changed plugs - had the wrong ones in. Running much better now...anything else? Almost seems like its overfuelling. MAF?
