Folks
Collected my new 93 SS at the weekend - very happy. It's a 2007 Vector Sport in Grey, with the 1.9 TiD 150 unit, and is a vast differenence from my old Nissan.
I've been lurking for a while, so I was pleasently surprised to experience such a well built cabin, with no obvious squeaks or rattles. Although I suppose it's all in the definition! So far I'm hugely impressed by the seating, the interior (the leather is such good quality!) the features - pretty much all of it really. The audio system is pretty good too - I believe I have the SS2 or something - it has 7 speakers and a amp in the boot on the left side, behind a panel.
It's not quite as brisk as my 350Z (half the horses!) and is doesn't quite have that v6 growl, but it does get more than twice the mpg! I've also gone from £440 tax to £145 and got a £50 insurance refund! Blimey, not sure why I didn't do this years ago!
K.
ps. I suppose my one gripe (a small one) is the absolutley huge gap between the drivers door and the dash near the lighting switch, it's like the Panama canal! - Are they all like that?

Welcome K.
Congratulations with joining the Saab gang.

You kinda answered your own question here though: Q, "not sure why I didn't do this years ago!" A, It's not quite as brisk as my 350Z (half the horses!) I like the 250Z
If you fancy a few more horses and a good deal more torque: http://en.bsr.se/products/t1133/
These guys (BSR-Sweden) are pretty much spot on with their products.
Anyway, enjoy.

Hi K
I'm pretty new to the Saab scene too - retired my long serving Accord Coupe 2.2 (230k miles!) and replaced it with a 93 Aero in Jan. Wow, what a car - goes like you-know-what off a shovel!
Apart from a couple of relatively minor irritations it's living up to my expectations and I hope we have many happy years together (found a great local independent Saab specialist to help keep it in good nick).
My only question to Saab is: why fit a car of this class with a stereo that sounds like it comes from a 1970s Lada???
I know I'm buying a car and not a top-end hi-fi with wheels, but really there's no excuse.

If you haven't already done so I would book a series of appointments with your dealer so you don't have to wait too long when it goes back in to have all the faults sorted out, also make sure you tell them what type of hire car you want when it is in the workshop waiting for the new EGR valve to come into stock!
Seriously though, I think they have gone downhill from the Saab's of old (our old 900 hadly ever gave us any trouble) but I think that after 9-months of ownership my wife is going to get rid of her 9-3 Vector and get something more reliable. On the plus side, the dealership has improved out of recognition and they have bent over backwards to help.
