Hi, I have a problem on my 03 93 1.8t which triggered the engine light. I loose some power but not too much.

The code was P0033 - Turbo Charger Bypass Valve Control Circuit.

Now I have found the actual valve directly under the air intake from the filter as it enters the turbo.

    Its listed here :

    http://www.thesaabsite.com/shop/search.php...a1=Start+Search

    as part number 55558271.

Has anyone had a similar fault ? and would anyone suggest replacing any other parts before the valve as the error code states "control circuit " which am assuming could mean other things connected to th valve.

If i need to , i am considering replacing this item myself as there are only three screws holding it down. Only possible problem is it has a spring/diaphram in it which may be tricky to get back on.

    Many thanks,

It could be a problem with the vacuum line feeding it, rather than the valve itself - that is worth investigating first. Follow the hose back from the valve and make sure there are no cracks/splits.

Got a complete turbo delivered and swapped the Bypass Valve tonight.
    Amazing .........

The old ones diaphragm had a split in 1/2 circumference and now car has awesome acceleration again.

Got a 2003 compatible turbo minus Bypass Valve in anyone needs one !!!!

    Hi Mark E,

Vinky here, another newbie for you. Any idea's on this one.
Good boost from my HOT 93 in low range but pressure stutters around the middle and won't go high like previously (neddle stuck around mid dial), changed the air flow meter under recomendation but no change !!

Lack of smiles to miles at present, I need my boost back !!

    Can you help ?
