GWS (Great Western Saabs) has been in contact with Prescott regarding attending a Hill Climb event this summer.

A reply from Pretcott is as follows:
    David,
Many thanks for your note. we would be delighted to have you visit one of our events. I would suggest either the Saturday 24th May, which has entirely english classic cars on the hill or our end of season classic event. If you come as a group i can arrange some dedicated parking for you and an advance ticket discount.
If you wish to know what car marques are competing on which days, check out the supplementary regulations on our competetion page.
If you come on the 24th May, then camping in the field opposite our main entrance is availbale if are interested. I will have a Veyron, an Ayrton Senna F1 Lotus and Chubby Mary all being demonstrated on the hill on that day.

    Camping at Prescott info:
Site is opposite the entrance to Prescott.
Camping is ‘the way to stay’ at Prescott, you do not need to book just turn up but a charge of £5 per person per night will apply, please pay on the gate. Fields are divided into ‘noisier’ and a ‘quiet family field’, details of such will be given upon arrival. Toilets and washing up facilities are provided but there are no showers. Dogs are allowed to stay in the camping field but must be on a lead at all times.

    So there you have it:
    Dedicated parking
    Group discount
    Camping
And seeing a wide selection of vehicles attempt Prescott.

So can I start with a list of those who would be interested. A prompt response would be appreciated:

    1. David & Anne (inc camping)
    2. Chris and Doreen (probably not camping )
    3. Parish (provisional)
    4.Tony and Julie (inc camping)
    5. Logan plus 1 (pass on the camping thanks )
    6. Saabstudent + Naomi (poss inc camping!)

A fabulous display of French automobiles, with French Car Clubs and cars competing on the famous Hill, with a varied programme of timed racing, demonstration runs and spectacular calvalcade runs.

PRESCOTT LATEST NEWS: Did we say just 2 Veyron on site...whilst that may have been a 'Car de Deux' (forgive us) we now have a complete flock on our hands. numbers are running a 6 possibly 7!

The 'works' Veyron will again be demonstrated seriously on the hill,
and alongside [by kind co-operation of Beaulieu National Motor Museum] will be John Bolster's 'chubby Mary' returning for the first time since 1964 and just to add spice, Ayrton Senna's Renault engined 1986 F1 car in which he won four Grand Prix.

Renault Heritage have just confirmed that Renault H&C Classic Team driver Michel Leclère will be competing at La Vie en Bleu on Sunday 25th May. After winning the French Formula 3 championship, driving for Alpine, in 1972, Leclère performed well in Formula 2. This earned him his chance in Formula One and he competed in eight Grands Prix from 1975-1976. Michel is
currently part of the Renault H&C Classic Team and continues to demonstrate and race some of the historic Renault Formula One & Le Mans cars at various events around Europe. These include the Alpine A443 which competed at Le Mans in 1978. read ,more click here

In the paddock will be our special display area of historic cars depicting the very best in french design from 1900 to the present day.

Right. I really do think I am the only one who reads this section of the forum - if it was audio I would be listening to my own echo.

We have some spare SAAB only parking available. Just turn up at the gate and tell them you are with the GWS SAAB crowd.

If you (like me) have never been to Prescott before, here is a video - best bits are in the second half!

    Hope to see some SAABSceners

Gosh this is an old thread:

    UPDATE.
    SATURDAY 29th MAY
I Know its a couple of months off but just a reminder as I need to let the organisers know how many will be turning up on the SATURDAY. As explained we have a dedicated Great Western Saabs parking area at this event so an idea of numbers will be helpful.

There is no charge for this, though you do have to buy a ticket for the event . It is cheaper to purchase your ticket for Saturday online from:
    http://www.prescott-hillclimb.com/may2010.aspx
Just turn up early on the day and tell the staff you are in the GWS paddock.

If you are still undecided here is a poor quality 5 minute look back at last years event
