    My car has just failed its MOT for the above lights not working.I have read a number of topics,and just realised that the rear indicator needs 2 bulbs so fitted them and the indicator is now working fine as opposed to flashing very fast.The hazard light still will not work and the one parking light that was working,which was on the same side as the indicator has now gone out.
    Tomorrow i am going to go out and buy new bulbs but i am confused why the parking light would go off now when i fixed the indicator.Does anybody know if they are connected?or was that just a coincidence.
    Also how do you change the parking lights?that has me also stumped.
    Any advice would be welcome

    You don't say whether it is the front or rear bulbs that are U/S. Rears you can access in the same way as the indicator bulbs. Probably worth cheching the whole 'printed circuit' for breaks and make sure that all the bulbs are earthing properly. You can get a range of strange effects with poor earths in the lighting circuit. Check that the indicators, parking and brake lights don't interact with one another. You probably need an assistant to stand at the back or park close to a wall.

    I think the front sidelight bulbs are found in the headlight assembly. Unscrew the large round cover for the headlight bulbs and you should find it in there. I think it is just a push fit into the lamp reflector. Pull that out and then the bulb is a bayonet fit into the holder.

    The hazard warning lights are controlled by a relay situated behind the fuse box ( assumes you don't have a glove box in which case it's behind that.) Check the fuse is OK first and make sure that all the other bulbs are working properly.

    The hazards/indicators sounds suspiciously like the hazard relay announcing it's retirement. The cause is usually dry joints connecting the base pins to the circuit board inside the relay itself. If you are so inclined, the casing can easily be removed from the relay, and these joints re-soldered. The problems with the sidelights could possibly be poor contacts in the lamp holders themselves, mine were corroded and the sidelights were poor, so I replaced them with 1W LED emitters. Works a treat.
