Hi, this is my first post in the forum, I am new to Saab cars, always love the look of these cars, I got this car (9000 Turbo CSE 1993 auto) from a friend who have the car parked for a long time, I put a new battery and gas, try to start the car but it wont start ( it cranks but no start), I check the main relay (ok) pump relay (ok), I check and have no power to the inyectors, I even try to put a cable direct from the battery to the inyectors cable but have no pulse. My question is is there any fuse that I am missing?? and I think one possible cause of this, is that a rat or a mouse brake a cable that goes to the inyectors since the car have been park outside in a farm for a long time. Any advise would be great. Thanks in advance

acha3,
Being a 1993 car, I'm not sure whether it has a traditional style distributor, or the later, Direct Ignition ( DI ) module. If it has a distributor then the first place to look is inside the cap. Is it all clean, does the rotor arm look OK. Does the sprung carbon contact in the centre move in and out when you press it. Clean up the plug leads and the centre one to the coil. Take a plug out and check for sparks.
If you have the DI pack ( big red unit on the top of the cam cover held down by 4 bolts ) then it could be that this has failed. It is possible to test them but you need to be careful since it generates life threatening voltages when in action.
Can you hear the fuel pump running when you turn on the ignition. You could check for voltage at the pump, under the rear seat. The other item that may be faulty could be the crank position sensor. Does the rev counter needle flick slightly when cranking. If not then it probably isn't working. There are two positions for these depending on the year. I think later engines have them down the back below the starter motor.

Full throttle
Welcome to Saabscene .
Your car will definitely have a DI cartridge, which is one possible cause. The other is a faulty crankshaft position sensor. Does the tacho (rev counter) needle flicker whislt you are tryign to start the car?
