New car and inspection questions...

Hi,

This is my first post as I've finally managed to find a 900! I bought one over the weekend in Vermont and drove it down to PA - it's a real joy to drive. It's my first but I'm certainly not a stranger to these cars - my Dad's had 7 of them.

Anyway, on the way down with the car I found out that the hazard warning lights don't work. I found a new switch on EBay so I'll try replacing it but could it be anything else? The turn signals work, though.

I wondered if you could answer the following:

1) How do I remove and replace the switch?
2) Could it be anything else that is preventing the hazards from working?
3) When I put the right turn signal on, the marker light flashes instead - why would this be?!

In PA I have 10 days to get inspected so I need to get this work done. Also, the previous owner installed an Abbott Racing 2.5" flow-thru exhaust system. I'm delighted with it and it sounds fantastic but it doesn't have a CAT. The odd thing is that there's something that looks like a CAT almost inline with the front wheels - what could that be?

Hello and welcome to SAABScene,

First could you tell us how old your car is. I am a bit confused because on the C900 the exhaust pops below the floor of the engine bay pretty much between the front wheels so there wouldn't be much room fot anything between them.

When you look under the hood is the engine across the car or in line with it. Does it look like the ones in my Avatar?
