Well, after the sucesses with the Abbott Stage 1 upgrade for the 9-5, I am keenly awaiting delivery of a BSR Stage 1 for the 9-3, allegedly taking it from 185-232 bhp and 263-380 Nm. Woo Hoo!
I will post some 0-60 and 40-70 mph times before and after once done.
He already has the full Abbott treatment on the suspension, (coils, Koni's, rear ARB, Viggen Rescue Kit), which has tightened up the car beautifully, so I guess the next to get the treament will be the brakes, depending on how we get on. I see Abbott are doing a 308mm AP disc kit now for the 9-3, anyone had any experience of this?

Just put a stage 1 BSR on the 9-5 aero (2001), and there is a noticeable difference. However. I was a little disappointed, because I haven't got the sharp powerband - the fun bit - that I got in my old Abbot chipped 900 - turbo. I contacted BSR about this and they say the power is there but the delivery is smoother(for engine longevity etc). Fair enough, but I want some whoosh!!
When I fitted the abbot chip in the 900 the mechanic adjusted the the waste gate valve to get it upto nearly the Saab factory boost cut-out pressure of 1.5 Bar, in fact it was so close that it occasionally hit it! But the damn thing flew - or at least felt like it!
I'm wondering if I can play around with the waste gate on the 9-5, although I'm sure BSR will tell me not to. If there are any afficionados out there who can advise, that would be great.
ps. the 155mph restriction has been reset in the BSR chip to 270kmh (around 170mph), haven't had a chance to try it yet. Only managed to get 146 out tof the prechipped Aero!! Maybe the road wasn't long enough. I suppose it still has some legs in it!!

Hmmm. I wouldn't want a car that kept hitting overboost cut-off.

I wouldn't bother if I were you. Trionic 7 engine management seems to be more sophisticated and does not seem to adapt positively to hardware modifications in the same way that Trionic 5 (or earlier) does.
