Bird poo on a convertible roof
It had to happen sooner or later, after a month a bird has finally 'dropped its load' on my convertible roof.
Any tips for cleaning the roof without having to wash the whole car ?

Re: Bird poo on a convertible roof
Pour water or use a damp cloth and clean away the "load" as soon as possible, just like any hardtop car to prevent it from leaving any permanent stain on the canvas or paintwork. Simple as that if you don't want to wash the whole car.

Re: Bird poo on a convertible roof
If it has hardened (I can't belive I'm posting on bird [expletive deleted] ) its good to let the water soak in for 10-20 mins before trying to shift it. I discovered this recently when an albertross, or an eagle owl, or some other bloody huge raptor relived itself on my windscreen. I couldn't get this stuff off even with an icescraper and a hose. However, let the water rehydrate it, and voila..it came off just with the hose.

Re: Bird poo on a convertible roof
I wonder if it was the same Condor, obvioulsy off course from South America, that visited my roof over the weekend.
How can they fly with all that inside them?
Warm water, sponge, very weak car shampoo solution over a big area around the deposted matter so as no to spot anything, then fresh water sponged over the whole area.
Another good bet is prevention. If you peg a chav out to a nearby lawn it attracts the offenders away in the first place. I think Burberry must mean someting in avian circles.
