Rear headlining fixings

I just need to get behind the rear of the headlining, and I'm trying to remember how to remove the two plastic "plugs" by the hatch. I've done this on my old 9000, but that was a while ago, and these seem different. I've applied quite a lot of force to them with no joy, and I fear I'm going to break something.

Is there a trick to them, or do I just need more force?

I used brute force on mine....and they broke. Now have pale grey rather than tan. From the design, two blunt screwdrivers top and bottom will deflect the lugs and help to lever them out.
