    Problems with alarm fob???

    Hi folks

Having problems with the aero. Can't get into the damn thing using the key fob so have to unlock with key and of course alarm starts to go off, not how it normally does mind you, beeps are iregular.

The battery seems to be fine, when I turn the ignition on the needle on the guage goes up to between 10-11 volts and the car starts fine, but of course soon dies because I have'nt turned the immob/alarm off.

Have changed the batteries in the alarm fob (inc. spare one) and have done the stand in front of car and press button 3 times thingy but still the fobs will not open the car

    So basically, stuck.......

    Help!

    Zahid

try turning the key to the right (clockwise) for 4/5 seconds, you should hear a chirp and this should deactivate the alarm system.

Tried it but it does'nt work

I might disconnect the battery for a while and see if anything changes when I re-connect it.

You'll certainly need to press the fob a few times after you reconnect the battery, to resynchronise the system. Thinking about it, this is the only situation I've ever found where pressing the button a few times does anything special.

    Zahid,

If it's not the batteries, re-programming at Ballards of Finchley will cost you £10.50.

    They did mine last year

All sorted, disconnected the positive terminal of the battery for approx 1 min and fob works fine now when re-connected.

    Strange......
