What are these cables on the dash blanking switch
Hi Chaps,
Can anybody identify the 2 cable bundles that are properly attached to the back of the 2 blanking switch buttons that sit beneath the 2 heated seat switches?
I wanted to use one to add the alarm LED to it. The car is a '92 2.3 9000
Turbo-S.
Thanks in advance

IIRC the one on the left is for TCS. Not sure what other one is for.

I think they may be the Air Conditioning switch and recirculating switch blanks for cars without ACC.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi,
Just a guess, extra driving/fog lights.
Steve.

Guys,
Many thanks for your, as always, prompt replies.
The car does have TCS so I tend to think that Trollbooster could be right as it dosen't have air-con. It's just that I've never seen a blanking switch like these that acutally have prongs on them to attach these 2 cable harnesses!
Thanks again, you are all GREAT!, but then again you're all SAAB owners so you must be!!

I think the switch area for the extra front lights is under the main lighting switch. (Which would be logical)

It's typical of the joined up car design that SAAB were famous for. Probably too costly for GM to keep using though
Saves poking around behind the dash when assembling, or fitting at the dealership.

Well, that's where TCS is on my 9000:

Looks like yours has ACC. I suspect sometimes there was no specific place to put the switches and could depend on the build standard. So long as all the ends are insulated I don't suppose it matters at all if the connector is connected or not to the switch blank.
