Hi Soren. I had a 92 FPT but that is a as close as I get. My main points would be :

Service history - if not regularly serviced and with evidence find something else.

    Turbo smoke test.

Depending on miles, new clutch and timing chain would be good.

Check every single switch and function so that you at least know what you are getting.

    HTH.

    I agree with Chris.

Make sure you check the headlamp washer motors as they can cost up to £30 each.

Check speedo tachy can be reset. I hate having to remove the dash.

Many of the switches can be bought secondhand from eBay.

Check for problems with 1st, 2nd and Reverse. Stick may pop out of it's got a problem.

Listen for any squealing noises coming from engine bay.

There's useful buying guides available from links on here too or www.saab9000.com

Well looked after examples will as usual have a Saab dealer history. There's plenty of them about and looking around it seems to be a buyers market. I keep my eye out regularly to remind myself of what a bad deal I got for my 1998 FPT Anniversary...but I love it so I shouldn't complain.

    Good Luck

Don't take anyones word for the AC system requiring a regas. If the gas is gone, it has gone for a reason and may be broken pipes etc. This can cost.
