Remote door lock fails on front passenger door

I guess this may have been raised in the past (like many threads), but can anyone advise:

My front passenger door has just ceased to lock/unlock using the remote (imobiliser/alarm) keyfob. Have to manually pull up (or down) the locking button on the door.

I guess this is the door actuator going faulty?
Or is there a specific fuse/relay feeding this (each?) door lock mechanism?

Can anyone point me to location of wiring diagrams?

    Is there a quick fix?

Thanks in advance for any help posted.

The same problem just popped up for me on my driver's side door. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I am planning on tracing the fault on Friday since I have all day to mess with it.

A single door lock failing on one side is most likely to be that door lock or perhaps a break in the loom/corroded connector. Two locks failing on the same side is more likely to be a break in the loom/corroded connector.

All locks failing indicates either a faulty control unit or door microswitch.

can you tell if the actuator in that door is making noise. Does the key work to lock/unlock? I've currently got my door apart to remedy "dreaded 9000 door handle syndrome"

After I get some pics I can try to post them for your enlightenment.

I haven't been able to tell if the actuator makes any noise. I am able to use the key to lock/unlock. Tomorrow I'm going to take off the door panel to try to fix the problem if I can locate it. Here's to hoping it's not the actuator!

Re: Remote door lock fails on front passenger door

    Thanks for all feedback guys.

The rubber cover between door and frame is sound, but I will disconnect/clean and check it when I get a chance. I understand this cann get dirty/corroded, and cause bad contact - and easiest first check.

Followign that it will be a door cover removal job. Any pictures of actuator, and inside of door would be appreciated aerosaab.

Actuator in my door is silent when remote activated, so looks more like lack offpower rather than actuator partly broke (which sometimes causes a whirring or clunk to be heard.

    b-regards,
    Paul

Re: Remote door lock fails on front passenger door

Well it started working correctly again for about one day and now I can't even lock the driver's side door with the key. The lock pops right back up again like it would if the door was open. I took the door panel off and the switch that senses if the door is open or not appears to work correctly according to my multi-meter. If I unplug the locking mechanism, should I be able to lock the door?

Figured out that the problem was the actuator. For some reason it wasn't letting the lock go all the way down so I had to remove it. Bought a used one on eBay for $10, which is over $100 cheaper than a new one. Meanwhile I'm driving around without a door panel.
