    Can I do this?

Can I take the turbo,ECU ect from a F reg 9000 FPT and put it in 93 9000LPT to give the FP that I'd like.
I know it's a bit of work but is it realistic.

Not sure you need to take the turbo even as is likely that your later one would be in better condition - (not sure if they are different units) but otherwise yes it should be possible though you will need all the plumbing, APC etc. I am sure others will be along to give you more information.

Umm... mechanically they are the same beast but... probably not a starter TBH. 1989 (F/G) was the changeover year to DI, so it's likely the F reg won't be DI. Thus the management systems are different beasts, which will make life very difficult. The wiring looms will be different, and they are major headache to change.

The 93 LPT also stands a chance of being a Trionic, which complicates matters still further.

Get an intercooler from any 9000 turbo, get an ECU from a 93 FPT, if you leave the LPT turbo in place it is smaller but will spool up quicker, may need to check base boost and you may need to add APC but it was already on my 94 LPT.

Kommando....Why does it have to an ECU from a 93 FPT and not any?.
Because this one is the FP to allbeit a 89'.

93 is first year for Trionic Ignition so you can't go back without loads of changes, and you shouldn,t go forward as there were a lot of changes on Trionic 93 to 94, it may work but don't know what the consequences would be.

I guess thats that then, I cant get hold of one from a 93 FP no way.
I'll either just have to use the car got or fix up the 1 I'm getting to have use of the FP.

I had an E-plate MY 87 with DI, the original CDE 2.0 FPT with all the gadgets on it. So maybe the F-reg will have DI??

    Re: Can I do this?

    Sorry
Have re-read question - would not easiest route be to fit an APC etc and obtain re-mapped ECU on exchange for the existing one or is budget an issue? This would then give FPT performance wouldn't it?
