Where have all the Carlsson's gone?

Currently 0 9000 Carlsson for sale on Autotrader in the whole of the UK

Think there is one CS Carly on Ebay, and that's it.

The same thing seemed to happen a couple of years ago when I was looking for a 9000 2.3 Carly. There were loads when I wasn't really looking, then seemed to disappear when I started looking seriously

Had to travel to Hampshire from the Midlands in the end to get my old 2.3 Carlsson.

I think these cars are so underrated - maybe everyone else is thinking the same and hanging on to them....

    About time too

Mind you, if I want another, I want them to be underrated again, so I can get one for next to nothing

The same thing is happening to Aero's (especialy less than 100K manuals) you have to travel further and look harder to find another!

My specialist mentioned to me before that most people who own a Saab on the 2nd or 3rd owner will hang onto the car for a long time. The thinking being that it is a well built underrated car and once they go past a certain mileage the values plummett and so people will rather spend money keeping them on the road rather than replace a reasonably good car and take a hit on depreciation. As with my own experience keeping a car for less than 2 years and less than 5 years old will ensure you lose money but if you hang ontot them you will find that most cars will pass to enthusiats so it is worth buying the highest spec model you can find!

I'm certainly keeping mine....its a question of pain-Its so close to pleasure, and the carly seems to offer extremes of both!!!

Therein lies your problem, the good ones are being cherished and the average ones are being driven into the ground until they're beyond economical repair. At which point they get broken and all the good bits get used by other people to tart up their cherished Saabs.

My 9000CD has a set of Carlsson Aero's on it already and as soon as funds allow (about 2010 at this rate ) it will get the bodykit fitted and will be lowered to become a fantastic Carly-a-like.
