We have a 9-3 2.0t 2002 convertible and it has started cutting out (no idle) and the engine management light has come on. The car runs fine when you are accelerating etc. but as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator / depress the clutch it keeps cutting out (no idle).
Update - all the above now replaced - but car is still cutting out on idle or idling very roughly and after resetting the system has gone back into limp home mode
to stop you thinking your going crazy talking to yourself
the idle is controlled by the throttle body I believe on an 02 model as its T7 as I think they stopped using an iac valve in 99/00 on the T5, so in the first instance its worth removing and cleaning this, also check condition of any gaskets
you will also need to reset the limp home solenoid
Thanks for the above - I carried out the reset of the limp home mode and bingo it all works
Back (hopefully ! ) to happy driving
Best regards
Mark
