hey guys, i have a 2011 9-5 in the mornings when its cooler, i get a creak sound like a tight spring from the steering column.
it goes away after like three turns..like its stretched out..what is it?
could be anti roll bar rods, track rod ends. also top mount bushes or as you have said a spring noise maybe a snapped spring it would inspect and go from there pal
I have 2010 95 and have a similar problem which has been present on car pretty much since when it appeared circa 20k miles, now up to 50k, noise abates during warmer weather, but very audible when colder. Saab did replace steering rack, pump etc on another car with same issue but noise came back within a week. As they couldn't find any specific fault, they would not replace mine under warranty. I went round the houses with them and wasted a lot of time at the garage trying to get to the bottom of it. I was told that the tech dept at saab were looking at this well recorded fault before they closed. Sorry, no solution , but for what its worth you ain't alone and it doesn't seem to effect safety or performance...
