Just bought a SAAB 95 Hot Aero a real bargin but my Xenon lights flicker when I turn them off via the switch but not the ignition. The car is under warrenty so would like to understand what is happening before going to the warrenty company as they will not know.
Is my power pack going or is it caused by some other fault like a poor earth, I belive these lights should last the life of the car!!!!

This is normal behaviour and not a problem.

Thanks thought it was going to blow up or damage the lights. Did not want to claim on warrenty if not required.
Thanks

The 9-3 doesn't do this. Don't know if it's relevant or not.

The 9-5 does.
The number of flickers depends on how long they've been on.
If ignition turned off none usually but if turned off at switch before engine off they flicker several times in a sort of pulse. Makes people look but is quite normal

Does anybody know if it is possible to adjust auto-levelling bi-xenon headlamps for European use (i.e., driving on the RHS) as a DIY job rather than having to trail to a SAAB dealer and also pay their exorbitant hourly rates just to twiddle four plastic screws?
I can see what appears to be the usual adjusting screws (two per lamp) which seem to be associated with each lamp assembly, but I have been told that adjustment is an 'electronics' procedure which needs to be done using a diagnostics kit. Is this correct?
I have down-loaded adjustment details for ordinary halogen lamp setting. However, I am obviously reluctant to start 'twiddling' until I am sure I am not entering a disaster zone!

Have a look at my guide
hereI did this on my 2002 car. For the 2007 car there are instructions in the Saab Workshop Manual that is broadly similar, bit also calls for 20 turns sideways. I've never bothered with the sideways shift. But 2 turns down is plenty, maybe a turn and a half.

Thanks again sgould for the kind help and info. not to mention the almost immediate response.
I did vaguely recollect seeing your guide (or something very similar) a long time back, could not recall where, but in my vauge memory I though it was for halogens only and not bi-xenons. Clearly, I need to learn how to use the Saabscene web site more efficiently!
I will now have a go at twiddling because I have already invoked the wrath of a few French drivers.
Ref. the discussion about flickering when being switched off. I can confirm mine do just that too but I have not observed if there is a difference between disabling with the ignition or the dash switch. I will take note next time.
