hi all,
another new recruit to the site here, just wondering if anyone else had a letter from saab dealer recently saying that there is a software update available that could help performance and economy. my dealer is doing it free of charge til end of april, anyone had it done or any ideas what it affects? my saab is a 55 plate 93 vector sport 120

few months back i saw reference to something very similar on the website of dealer where i bought my car (these days i use an independent for servicing) but there was a charge of around £35 (IIRC). Then promptly forgot about it till this post.....

intrigued to know what exactly the benefits are - or, more specifically, whether it would provide anything that isn't already covered by the sort of checks included as part of a routine service.... or should be ...(?)

Given that your particular dealer is offering it FOC the cynic in me wonders whether it's a tactic to find something that "we'd advise you to have done sir"..... but then chargeable of course wink.gif

Well I got the update done on Wednesday
and I think there is a bit of a diference when running,
not a big diference but maybe a bit smoother a bit more responsive,
no definate proof or justification but just feels a bit better. I would
recommend it ( if you get it done free like me). The only gripe I've got
is that my headlights were on all the time (DRLs) so I asked them to do
me a favour and turn them off for me, as the software update is a techII
I thought since it was hooked up anyway they would just switch them off
oh yea they done it and charged me £24.50 for the pleasure, safe to say that's
they're last from me.
