Hi i have recently bought a 04 93 2.2tid which was damaged at the front it is now pretty much finished. I have put a new bosch battey on and when i open the door and sit in the car a clicking noise comes from the top of the dash till i turn the key and start the engine. The noise then stops, just wonded if anyone had any ideas

This will probably be your recirculation motor for your ACC. This sits behind the glovebox on the heater box and is a very common fault.

Try operating your Recirculation button to determin if the noise comes and goes when the motor is operated.

Hi thanks where would i find this switch is it an easy fix?
Tech69
The button to push is on the Heater Control Panel. There will be a picture of an arrow 'bending'. Pressing this button will activate your recirculation motor.

Sorry, meant to add...

Yes this is quite easy.

Remove the glove box. The Recirc motor sit on the top left of the heater fan housing. Press the recirc button again to locate it. There are two Torx 20s that secure it and a small connector.

The stepper motors on the heater box for the blower direction, (Feet, Face and screen) can also wear and become noisey so make sure its is definately the recirc motor before you go taking it out.

Hi do i just need to replace this part? What will happen if i just unplug it?
Tech69
If you unplug it you will produce a fault code and your recirculation wont work, but technically, yes, this will stop the clicking.
