Hi, I have an 03 93 whose folding mirrors have stopped folding, the rest of the mirror functions work fine. Does anyone know where the motor which folds in the mirror is situated in the door as I've been told the motors have broken, even better, if anyone knows the motor's part numbers that would be even better.
Many Thanks

Hi. The motor is located in the mirror housing below the pivot point. Unfortuntely I dont think these motors can be replaced due to the construction of the mirror housing.

Have both mirrors stopped working at the same time? if so, perhaps the switch is to blame?

Hi Tech,
Thanks for that, yes, I have found out they are part of the mirror housing. The nearside stopped working just after buying the car and was looked at by my local Saab garage, Whitmores but because of their incompetence (again!!) it could not be repaired under warranty, the offside stopped working a few months later and a couple of garages looked at them and said it was the motors, costing almost £600 to be replaced. Luckily, someone from this forum has sold me a pair for £150 so hopefully the problem will be fixed.
Many thanks for the post.

Hi, does anyone have any advice on changinging the door mirrors? Do I need to take the door trim off completely, if so, are there any hidden screws etc.
Any help appreciated!

Two Torx 30 screws behind the handle cover. A few clips around the door trim edges that just pull off with the trim. Remove the small cover that houses the mirror direction switch. The mirror housing is held in place by 3 Torx 30 screws. (Discription based on Saloon and Wagon)
