Hi all

just thought I'd pop in and say hello... well I have taken the plunge and purchased a MY01, on a Y plate, 9-5 Aero Estate with a BSR 280bhp upgrade. After only 3 days of ownership i must say I'm smitten with the brand.. considering this is an 8 year old 100k miler I would be hard pressed to think it wasn't much newer such is the build quality. I was looking for a big estate to replace my pickup truck for business(security equipment) and started to look at the Audis, Beemers, Volvo's but to be honest you didn't get a lot for your 5k budget till i spotted this beauty at a shade under £4k. Deal struck over the phone hey the guy even put 6 months tax fresh mot and 2 new tyres on it, so I'm a happy bunny to say the least.

Couple of questions for you lot.

1. The car has come equipped with a Nokia cradle and integrated phone system. The cradle is for a 6310i but would like to change this for a newer nokia.. any suggestions, I have searched but to be honest most of the replies seem to point to SIO communications who to say were unhelpful would be an understatement.

2. Suspension upgrade. looking to stiffen things slightly as i find the car leans just a bit to much for my liking also is it worth doing a polybush upgrade or just replace all the bushes with new rubber ones.

3. how the hell do you make the temperature settings independent of each other?????

right of to play with the scoobys smile.gif

Welcome! smile.gif

There is Nokia cradle that can be swapped for the one you have; leaving all the rest in place.. I think it's a "pop port" bluetooth holder. Try JustCarKits in Slough, they seem to know what's what.

I don't know what's happened at Sio. They were very good, but I think they are a very small company and the owner was ill for some months. The site says he's back and working through a backlog. But my order for bits before Christmas was not sent and I got an automated "order declined" message this week after it had sat at "pending" for 8 weeks.

Try the Eibach kit from Elkparts for an upgrade. It seems to be almost the same as the official Saab Hirsch stuff.

Separate temp settings are set by a dealer with the Saab 'Tech2" diagnostic computer. But.... if you have no passenger, the temp will be set to the driver's temp on both sides. Also, before you go to a dealer, check that the seat belt warning works when a passenger is present (or not). If this is not working, the car won't know that the passenger is there. I think that separate temp each side is the factory default and few people change it. I'm on my third 9-5 and they have all come with separate temp side to side.

If you need a buyer for the Nokia kit then I have a 6310i and would like to integrate it into the car (MY00 9-5 Estate). It's either a cradle such as yours or bluetooth. Let me know how much. I even drive past Truro a few times a year on the way to the inlaws in The Lizard.

Car sounds good. thumbsup.gif

Thanks for your quick replies and your warm welcome..

Yep car is more than good though i have a slight concer with regard the clutch.. no evidence of a replacement in it's life time and with the extra umph that the chip gives and my......... ahem exuberance it may just be time to look at replacing it.

I'll check out the eibach stuff, do the aero's have self levelling rear suspension? and whats the verdict on poly bushing?

superswede66 if i manage to sort it out then you are welcome to have the cradle for nowt... I'm actually in St.Austell but willing to meet you on one of your jaunts, somewhere like fraddon Mac D's.

Next stage for me is to give the beast a damn good wash polish and interior clean, remove the tacky bsr badges and maybe debadge the rear, then get the rear and side windows tinted.

by the way oldish man in slightly tweaked swedish rocket 1...... yob in oldish scooby wrx 0 ooo.gif
