Car has covered only 17,000 miles from new, and there is a stack of old MOTs showing in some cases barely a mile covered in 12 months.
It is totally original - and in excellent condition. It's always been garaged, and the green seats have always been under covers - so are original and utterly mint. All carpets & door cards are also mint.
Bodywork is beautiful, it has a few scratches here & there as you'd expect on a 32 year old car, but no dents that I could find. It's had a few bits of welding done over the years, mainly patches to sills, and has a couple of minor areas that will need patching as follows:
[*]Hole in LH sill in centre of rear jacking point.
[*]Minor corrosion around rear shocker mounts and at the top of one rear inner wing - about the size of a £2 coin in each case so nothing to worry about.
[/list]
It's had a leaking battery at some time so below the battery tray, the N/S suspension turret has a lot of surface rust. No more - it's solid as a rock, just a bit scruffy. Undersealing on both sills could do with some attention, it's a bit thin in places, but at least you can see exactly what it's like underneath.
Engine started on 2nd turn, auto choke works OK - neeed a bit of help to tick over for the first couple of minutes but then ran fine, and the engine is as sweet as any V4 you'll find. It has a stainless exhaust which looks almost new.
Wheels have been painted in hammerite and would benefit from a blast & repainting in something more appropriate. All hub caps are mint, no dents or scrapes. Other brightwork - grille, bumpers etc is all mint, even the silver strips in the windscreen rubbers are in excelent condition.
I've advised the seller not to get any of this work done before selling, as I think it is the sort of car that will sell better with full knowledge of what needs to be done rather than wondering what is covered up.
