Hi there, I have recently obtained a saab 93 2003 2.2TID and I have noticed the lack of AUX input. I would like to fit a saab part back into the car instead of using a after market system due to me wanting to keep all the steering wheel functionality. I was looking at a saab 95 (2009) stero system that has an AUX input however I didnt want to purchase this without seeking advice.
Thanks very much

Hi there I have a 2003 Saab 93 2.2TiD vector. Has 162k on it but every now and again the engine management light comes on sometimes I lose the turbo other times I don't. Recently even though the light has now gone out there seems to be a lul before the turbo kicks in.......the power delivery just isn't there as quick as it used to be. Any ideas? Next Issue is the rear door locks seem to be intermittent, sometimes they open on the button other times they don't. I also have a fault that says rear brake light failure and sometimes it struggles to start and there is an ABS failure message that goes once the car has started. Can someone recommend a cheap (very cheap) code reader/ diagnostic machine? any help is welcomed thanks :) also I cannot find the paint code on my car anywhere have checked the door sills, glovebox and boot......its a light blue colour will post a pic in a bit, I'm wanting to fully colour code it!

Hi all. I got codes p0300, p0303 and p1303. The 1303 was defined as ignition module. The other 2 were misfires cylinder 3. Well, I changed plugs to some autolite's 5833's or something. It was the ones the book at the store showed to use when I looked up my year saab and engine type. That didnt help and when I swapped plugs the tubes were full to the top with oil. Crazy! I replaced both velve covers today and the 8 o rings on each cover as well. So far i cant tell if theyre leaking or not because now the car wont even start. It wants to and almost starts, its so wanting to but then it just dies. (the battery) I recharge batt and same thing. Car almost starts, so close to starting then batt finally dies. I think the di's are bad (p1303) but i wanted to test them before spending a fortune on them. Some site said to turn cassette upside down and run a jumper wire to negative post and see if theres spark in the plug gap? I want to test that way but not sure where to wrap the jumper wire at plug. Also not exactly sure I have it set up right for a test. I took the cassette out, turned upside down and took sparkplug out and sat it in the top of the upside down rubber boot/tube. Now i was going to run the jumper to negative post but from exactly where? Then turn key and watch for spark in the gap? If sparks, di's are good? jCheck all three on the front cassette and all three on the back cassette one at a time? Any help is wayyyy appreciated!

Now then all,
Have decided to scrap my standard as2 amp as trying to work it all out is doing my tree in  and work off my head unit, Ive...

Now then all,
Have decided to scrap my standard as2 amp as trying to work it all out is doing my tree in  and work off my head unit, Ive purchased a 260w amp and JBL subwoofer all attached second hand for £30 off ebay and it looks mint, Ive also purchased some 4 ohm Vibe Slick 6 component speakers @ a special deal price of £40 at radio world in pudsey leeds, total bargain look very well made and sturdy, good lads in there aswell. I also bought an amp / sub wiring kit for £9.. Anyone local should go, good place, very well priced.
Anyway, some questions if you dont mind..

The guy in the shop said it would not be possible to wire all 7 speakers to my 4 channel pioneer avic f940bt. I dont want to lose the front speakers..

Heres what Ive got to work with.

Pioneer Avic F940BT H U with built in 200 watt mossfet 4 ch amp with built in subwoofer inputs etc.

Front Dash = 2 In-phase co - axial 3.5" 4ohm speakers rated @35w rms i believe. Havent touched middle dash tweeter yet, any suggestions plz.?

Front Door speakers = Vibe Slick component 6 speakers 90w rms, seperate coss-overs, seperate 1" tweeters.

Rear Door Speakers = JBL 4" GT5 4 Ohm speakers rated @ 30w. (bit gutted cause angry Kitchens dimensions were wrong for my rear speakers quotinf 4" and theyre actually 5", improvised and got mounted ok though and sounding ok for little chaps.

260 watt 2 ch amp with crossover.

JBL 12" Boxed Subwoofer with amp attached.

Complete amp wiring kit.

The stereo's been fitted, I fitted all the speakers except for the fronts which I had initially replaced with 2nd hand JBL 627 2 ohm co- axial speakers and one of them was farting but just didnt sound right anyway, dont really understand why. Thought the 2 ohm would work out ok but somehow the older satandard saab speakers seem to have more presence ???
Hence why ive been swayed by these lovely 4 ohm vibe speakers, sub woofer and gettin rid of the saab set up.

Based on what Ive got is the young lad right and i can only have 4 channels / 4 speakers + sub ??
If the front vibe door speakers are twice as powerfull cant I split a channel between the rear door speakers and 2 main dash speakers ??? He said that would make them run at 2ohms but isnt that when youre running parallel cant i split, even if it did make it two ohms because the power is halved wouldnt that average everything out or am i being a complete ignoranus ??
Dont wanna compromise, dont want to lose the front speakers, suppose losing the rears might be better, for me at least haha ...

Has anybody ever mounted the tweeters in the mirror plastic trim ???

The sub remote lead what do i connect that to please??

My stereo keeps losing the settings when i switch off the ignition? IM sure ive read some where I can change iso wires 7 & 9 n thatll sort it, is that correct.??

Any help would be quality, as wanna eagerly do it but want to know what my options are and am about out of money )): Soo hope itll be worth it, cant wait to have proper bass..???

Cheers in advance for any help at all.. Ta
