Hiya
I wonder if anyone could help, he says optimistically!! I have a 91J, 2.3T Carlsson and the blower motor wont work at all. It has climate control. I cant find a resistor pack so i assume (was always told never assume!!)it has an electronics pack to drive the fan as per a previous thread. Could someone tell me where to find the pack please. Is it at the back of the ACC module???

i know this sounds drastic, but take off the cover put the fan on high or low setting and give the motor a good thump once or twice as i had this problem and my saab garage did this and it started abet very noisily, the armature had got very dirty and some bits of plastic from the evaporator tray ( it breakes up apparently) had got into the motor, he then drilled a hole about 1 inch from the end of the motor fired in some elect cleaner then some liquid grease finally used an air line to blow the debris out and after about 5 min noisey use the fan has been ok since,he told me he had been doing this from the second year the 9000's had been out!. might not be this but it is preferable to having to taking the motor out as this is a pig of a job. http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

Oh well, nothing ventured etc......
Thanx for that will give it a try. Failing that I suppose its fan out time!!!! Deep joy!!! http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

The fan speed controller for ACC units is located on the motor housing under the air con receiver. This is located on LH side rear of engine bay behind a false bulkhead & under a plastic cover. Cover & false bulkhead need to be removed to expose the fan controller. Remove 4 pin connector and 4 torx screws. Fan power via big transistor, normally this fails in short condition & fan is on continuously at high speed, but if it fails as an open circuit this could be the problem. BTW one cover screw is longer then the rest!
