Has anyone had experience with replacing the bushes on the front lower suspension member? Can they be easily replaced, or do they require the use of a press?
The model is a 1986 9000i DOHC hatchback
Thanks,

They are dead easy, they just unbolt. You should be able to replace them in about 1/2 an hour each side. The the rear (butterfly) bushes seem to need replacing more frequently.
Don't fully tighten up the nuts until the weight is on the wheels or you can damage the bushes on full bump.

Thanks for the post, I will give it a try.
I was a little concerned by this, as the guy at the local Saab dealership reckoned the front bush needed to be pressed in, but then again, he didnt sound as if he really knew!
Another question: are these bushes available generally or just a dealer only part, since £35 a bush seemed a tad much!

Bushes are available from Eurocarparts at less than £10 each. Tel:0870 150 6506
or Abbott Racing do uprated polybushes, but I'm not sure of the price.
Anyone got any experience of these?
Are they worth having?
