The SRS warning light now comes on following the removal of the instrument binical and subsequent runing of the engine without it connected. I don't believe that there is any thing wrong with the system but how can it be reset without taking it to the SAAB dealer? Does any one have in formation of the communication protocol and connection format for the diagnostic port used to reset the warning light.

Am I right in thinking that the steering wheel was removed too? If so, I'd start by checking all the connections for the airbag wires. I didn't think the SRS light could 'trip', I thought it just came on if it sensed a fault in the airbag system, and went off again afterwards. If it's a later 9000, check the wiring for the passenger airbag too.

NEVER EVER play around with anything concerning the airbags!!!!! Is the SRS-light alluminated see a authorized Saab-dealer and get it checked out. Malfunction in the SRS-system can have VERY SERIOUS (and deadly!) outcome.......
