Hi Folks,

Im involved in running a football related website and we currently have a message board however its pretty wide open to abuse as its not membership restricted etc. Im just wondering if you guys could shed any light in regards to where you got your fine message board from?. As we are looking to replace our current message board with a more controled one.

I would be grateful if you guys could help me out in anyway.

This is the software that we use:
UBB.Classic: www.ubbcentral.com/ubbclassic/ (http://www.ubbcentral.com/ubbclassic/) - but it does cost.

Alternatives are

phpBB www.phpbb.com (http://www.phpbb.com) - a php/mySQL based BB that looks like everyother BB on the internet

Invision Powerboard www.invisionboard.com (http://www.invisionboard.com) - a superior phpBB/mySQL based BB that I use for another forum - much better than phpBB and more easily customised.

Plus a whole host of other boards that are available, many of them as opensource/free.

I do like the look and feel of this mb its pretty good the one we have at the moment does cost so it shouldnt be an issue to make the change . Im going to pass the info onto the lads that run the site along with me and we can figure out which one to go for .
