Still browsing the secondhand lists and seen some surprisingly cheap 9-3SS's on the Sheffield dealer site.

9,300 2003 £14,995
SAAB 9-3 LINEAR 2.2 TiD 4 DOOR BLACK
7,515 2002 £15,995
SAAB 9-3 LINEAR 2.2 TiD 4 DOOR black

Nothing much under £18 or £19k in the South!!

That seems very cheap especially compared to the £18495 asked by my local dealer for a 2.2 Tid - mind you i think they look awful in white!!!!

I'm waiting for the Aero's to come down to about £10k - I'll be waiting a while then
I do like the new convertibles - will be a few years before they are in my range.

Well Bond Street Saab (Kev's dinner time haunt) are buying my Jan 2003 (52 plate) 2.0t Vector(lowered and body kit 6 cd and ES2-13 stereo) with 13000miles(well will be in 6 weeks when my new one comes) for £16500 and its an import so i guess they will want a grand on top.
So Leicester has Southern prices.

What are you getting as a replacement Mike?
Bond Street are expensive - even Bond Street Select (selling the "older" 2 years plus cars) are hugely expensive. We paid less than half of Bond Street Selects typical price for a 1999 classic 9-3

Gordon Lamb in Sheffield are very good on price (and from what I have seen, service) but they make it back on the servicing costs. Buy off Lambs and service at Bowetts in Huddersfield.

I've ordered another 93ss exactly the same, with a Saab GB payment and got the car at COST because of all the electrical problems i've had.
Should come mid Nov, so i guess i'll be the first 93ss owner to change to a 93ss.
I sold Bond Street Select my 1999 93s in Jan for £4700 and they put it up for sale at £7400 http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif it hung around for atleast 3 months.

I'd be willing to invest £5k to make £2.5K in 3 months - If I had £5k to invest!
Certainly shows what mark-up can go on these cars.
I bet if I went in to buy it, they'd be bleating on about low margins and how hard the current market is!

Hope your new car doesn't cause you any problems http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
As for the 1999 9-3 price, that doesn't surprise me. We've just bought a 1999 9-3 2.0iS - dealers were flogging the same car for almost £7k - we paid no where near that

£2500 to £3000 seems to be the markup everywhere at the moment http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
My wife is looking to sell her Galaxy which is shown at £6200 buy-in price and £9100 for sale at a dealer. So if she spends less than £3k she will be buying the same car that she has sold!! http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
