Dear all,

It's been a while since I've posted a message. But here I'm now. My 93SS has about 10.000km. on the clock and will be going in for it's first service next week. So far so good, not a lot of problems except a few ratlles and squeaks and also a few times the sat nav positioned me totally wrong... this sucks if you don't know the area you're in... this only happend two or three times so far.
The things that really annoys me is this... When you start the car and the airco kicks in, the first minute or two you have a kind of bad smell in the interior comming from the vents. Anyone else have this?

And another small thing... sometimes, also when starting the car, this "ding dong" bell goes on together with the "ESP-off"-warning light in the dash... this light goes off again almost immediately... is this some kind of serious failure or just a software-squeak??

As a 9-5 boy, we get this sometimes too - indicative of the cabin air filter needing a change. On the 9-5 its a Service item.

As for the ESP light - the 9-5's warning lights all flash - ESP included - I think it does a self-test on start.

The Saab guys will confirm anyway.

10.000 kms+ on the clock, no smells what so ever. Are you sure e.g. a cat hasn't been ******* to the air inlet Should get rid of it by cleaning the system and changing the filter...

I'm not entirely sure about the 93SS but I had this on my 1998 GM93, it's prob the cabin air filter. To get to this take off the wipers and the plastic shroud(s) underneath is the cabin air filter. Cost £34 from Saab. 20 minute job.
