: Mikej's car has no engine !
rob123 03-15-2003, 10:42 AM Just read Mike's post . http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif 'Tamworth Meet' I knew Mike had an oil leak in the new 9.3ss Vector, but had no idea it was serious : engine out ?( http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif Think he may have the use of a 9.5 , be interested to know what he thinks of it
mikej 03-16-2003, 03:48 AM Within two hours of driving the 95 i got a rash.
So as Stunut1 said at the WMWSOC meeting i must be alergic to 95's
It is a wallowing barge compared to the sports suspension of my 93ss, but has got the usual umph even if it is V reg with 83k on the clock.
No cruise or variable intermitent wipers, most of the dash lights dont work, and it's leaking oil in a diferent place to my 93ss did on the drive
It's in that common silver colour(Rob )
The car went in on Monday(10th) for 3 days and yes it is Sunday(16th) and i've still got the 95.
Mike
kprm77 03-16-2003, 07:02 AM At least they didn't give you a Corsa as a courtesy car! As for Wallowy barges - you should try a Citroen C5 if you think a 9-5 is bad http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
What's wrong with your car? How bad was the leak?
mikej 03-16-2003, 08:18 AM They did try to give me a Corsa, i said no thanks i'll wait for a Saab to come back.
Oil leak in OSF area, leaking onto OS drive shaft and spraying oil over OSF alloy and prob break pads.
Had to wait 2 weeks for parts then when they get the car they have not got all the parts to fix, hence a week to sort it out and it will be Tuesday PM by the time it's sorted if they get the bolts on Monday AM.
BTW it's engine out job.(It's at Bond St. if anyones there and wants a look.)
Full details on Saabcentral, but you get the idea.
Pi55ed off and anoyed, course not
kprm77 03-16-2003, 12:09 PM *BTW it's engine out job.(It's at Bond St. if anyones there and wants a look.)[/b]Bond Street is just 3 minutes walk from my office - maybe I will! (Well I could go to see if they have any Aeros in!)
mikej 03-19-2003, 04:52 AM Kev if you are taking a walk today let me know what state my cars in as the bolts have arrived(alegedly).
Should get it back tomorrow pm, and they better have done everything and got it right.
kprm77 03-19-2003, 04:58 AM Kev if you are taking a walk today let me know what state my cars in as the bolts have arrived(alegedly).[/b]I may well do that!
Can you PM your reg to me so I know what I'm looking for. (I trust they haven't got loads of 9-3ss's with their engines out anyway! http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif )
kprm77 03-19-2003, 09:48 AM Couldn't go at lunch, but as luck would have it, I was asked to ferry someone to the Citroen garage so they could pick up the barge (C5).
Wasn't really on the way back, but managed to pop into Bond Street Saab for a quick reccy.
Could only see one 9-3ss in the workshop, which was up on one of the lifts. It's boot was open so couldn't see the reg. There were no black 9-3ss's outside that I could see (well there were two - though were un-registered).
Probably was MikeJ's car on the lift, as it was black with alloys. The front wheels were off, and it was being worked on - there was a mechanic poking around in the engine bay. The mechanic clocked me, so I had to leg it!
Had a quick lech at the cars in the showroom - no 9-3 Aero's, but there were 5 or 6 9-3ss's knocking about. The 9-3ss does look gorgeous in black. Especially with the Aero kit.
They seemed to have a few 9-5's that were sold too.
Couldn't hang around unfortunately - so that's all to report.
saabman 03-19-2003, 10:14 AM The mechanic clocked me, so I had to leg it! *[/b] http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif why did you have to leg it?
kprm77 03-19-2003, 10:24 AM why did you have to leg it?[/b]Dunno - didn't want to go in with all the Health and Safety stuff.
saabman 03-19-2003, 10:40 AM Dunno - didn't want to go in with all the Health and Safety stuff. *[/b]Why did you have a load of health and safety gear with you Kevin?
kprm77 03-19-2003, 10:46 AM I was really on a spying mission - I was caught and did not want to be interrogated! http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
ylee coyote 03-19-2003, 11:15 AM you could have used your cyanide tooth to prevent interogation

Prob mine as it's black vector 17" 5 spoke alloys and aero body kit with twin exhaust.
Did it look like the pictures you posted of my car that rob123 sent you?
Should be ready for tomorrow night.
Did you get any spy shots
kprm77 03-19-2003, 02:49 PM Who's ever car it was - there was a lot of stuff in the boot, possibly piping etc. Well that's all I could see as I was looking up at the boot - must have been a lot of other stuff in there too. Don't know if they were from the engine or what....
Having looked at the pic of your car, I'm not that convinced it was yours, though I was looking at quite an odd angle.
If it wasn't yours, makes you wonder how many 9-3ss's are having this sort of work carried out http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
mikej 03-20-2003, 01:45 PM Car was supposed to be ready tonight, but it wasn't.
The service guy who i spoke to yesterday had forgot to tell the service manager that he told me. http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
Service manager looked as if to say what are you doing here.
As the car has not been road tested and the hands free is not fully programed, and it is filthy.
Will be ready tomorrow (but that never comes as i well know).
So i could have saved the drive and hassle at rush hour if they had rang to say leave it till tomorrow.
Kev the boot was up with wires handing out because "we have to put the head lights somewhere"
Aparently they have to remove front bumper and headlights to remove the engine. http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
rob123 03-20-2003, 01:56 PM Sorry Mike to hear your car was not ready, and that you have to use the 'old' 9.5 for another day. Hope it all works out tomorrow and you have your car back to use over the weekend . Good luck with it .
kprm77 03-20-2003, 02:09 PM Hope they do come good in the end and get your car ready (and fixed!)
Sounds like it was your car I saw yesterday on the lift.
ylee coyote 03-20-2003, 06:45 PM Is the hands free the one with the integrated cable ?
if so what phone are you running
my dealer is still giving me the runaround..
still it works up the appetite for some more pies
kprm77 03-21-2003, 11:31 AM What happened today Mike? Have you finally got the car back?

[/b]Mike, Good news you have your car back . Sorry you are so negative about the 9.5. Yes I know it's a 'V' reg etc you had in its place, but if you would ever like to drive a 'real' 9.5 , stiff , hard suspension, wooden dash etc. 250bhp Just let me know . I can provide pipe and slippers after a trip to the Oxfam Shop if you need the full Monty . Delighted all the same that you have your car back
