Two things
1- Are there any posibility to upgrade the Saab 95 Hi-Fi to read MP3 sound format ?

2- Are there any way of connecting an external minijack connector to plug any sound source ?

1. Almost certainly not, as the decoding chip would have to be changed and this isn't on.
2. If a CD changer can be selected manually and you had the wiring diagrams, then maybe something could be rigged up, but I really think this would be a no as well...

You could try and work round the problem. (I assume you have a portable MP3 player you want to use in the car).

There are two ways that come to mind:

First is to buy an FM transmitter that is powered by the cigarette lighter and takes the sound from the output of the MP3 player. They transmit on a fixed FM frequency and you tune one of the car radio channels to that frequency to pick up the transmission. There's been a lot of discussion about this on the Apple Computer forums since Apple brought out an (expensive?) player before Christmas. Quality varies but names mentioned are 'Soundfeeder' and 'iRock'. Prices in the $30 range mail order from the States.

The second way is to buy a CD converter that fits in the cassette slot and plays via the playback head when 'Tape' is selected.

After I sent the last post I found this link:

Never used one but they say the transmitter works within 10 to 30 feet (3 to 10 metres approx)
