Keith,
I can't recommend CC strongly enough. Its great for urban & motorway travel and keeping to speed limits through monitored roadworks. I suggest just having CC fitted, cost me £120 on my 9-5 via a specialist.

I have CC on my 9-3 fitted from new. I have to say it is only good to use in fairly traffic-free conditions ( ie hardly ever!). At other times (particularly on M/Ways) you are having to take it out quite often if it matches most other peoples' speeds.
I would not have it fitted specially.

I also have factory fitted cc on my 9-3.. I also do serious motorway mileage.. but I don't find it particulary usefull.

It's something you play with when it's new and then kind of forget about.

Keith, I agree with all of the above comments on CC!

It depends on what type of roads conditions you normally travel.

Definately not much use in trafic, but even assuming that you daily commute is a busy one, CC can be a real blessing on a 100+ mile holiday (or even business) cruise, especially for tall people as it helps prevent the crooked ankle position and long term fatigue.

Personally, I quited missed not having cruise, even when commuting, when I once changed cars, as my dailey commute in wales was not a busy route.
