I'm going to change my fantastic 900 turbo Aero bought new in 1991 and with 300.000 km on the clock. Why don't they put the 9.5 2.3 T engine with 250 hp in the 9.3 bonnet? Has anyone got news about the new 9.3?

IIRC the new 9-3 is due for 2002 - there are some pics elsewehere in this BB - but they are just what the auto mags think it might look like.

Luca, before saab pop in 250bhp into the 9-3 they would need to look at the front suspension. Having recently had a saab 9-3 hot on test i can say it was a great car, however my fillings have rattled out due to the poor roads in the uk and the aformentioned suspension.

Fillings rattling. Yeah. I just test drove a 150hp 9-3 before deciding whether to purchase a MY2002 Aero. It had the Aero 6 spoke 17-inch wheels on it and I think this is what caused the car to shake and rattle over the rough roads around the Midlands.

I am just hoping that the Aero will be nothing like this with it's modified suspension. But, as there doesn't appear to be any in the country yet. I couldn't say. I will just have to wait til mine is delivered.

To Luca's question - there are no substantial changes to the 9,3 for 2002 - Like Jez, I just ordered a 2002 9,3 Aero Cabriolet. I have been told by the importer that there are no body changes in 2002 and from the pricing and options sheets there are no changes to the drivetrain or engines.
