I have leased a 99' SAAB 9-3 for almost 2 years that currently has 27800 miles on it, on a 3-year 45,000 mile lease.
Yesterday my clutch suddenly gave out completely, and I had to have the car towed to the nearest dealer. The called me today to say that the problem appeared to be wear-and-tear on the clutch, that it would cost $1300 + tax + towing to fix, and that it was NOT covered under warranty. What is the deal here? I am planning on disputing this and trying to get out of my lease, never to drive a SAAB again. I have not ridden my clutch or driven the vehicle inappropriately and have never heard of somthing like this happening in less than 2 years of owning the vehicle.
Any recommendations?
