ANNOUNCEMENT:
Sport Artist of the Year 2004
We are pleased to announce that René Broné has been nominated for the esteemed prize of Sport Artist of the Year 2004 by the director of the American Sport Art Museum and Archives.
The American Sport Art Museum and Archives, known also as ASAMA is a division of the United States Sports Academy, and is dedicated to the preservation of sports history, art and literature. Located in an artistic atmosphere in the architecturally acclaimed main campus building at the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, USA, the gallery routinely features exhibits of world-renowned sport artists.
The Sport Artist of the Year Award is presented to an individual who captures the spirit and life of sport so that future generations can relive the drama of today's competition. The recipient may use a variety of art media including paint and canvas, newspaper, magazines or periodicals, photography, illustrations, films, video, or sculpture to depict the breadth and scope of both the agony and ecstasy of the sport.
Nominations are selected from any member of the Academy's worldwide family. This group includes the administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni, national faculty, and the various advisory boards that serve the Academy. Screened by the Awards of Sport Committee, the candidates are selected (secret ballot) by the Academy Club and approved by the Academy's Board of Trustees.
