I assume that a bunch of us will make it to the SOC (UK) National meet in Peterborough (27/28 July), but is anyone else from here going to the Saab International meeting in Belgium, 2,3,4 August?

I shall be.

Whereabouts in Belgium Gassy?
Also, where would you be staying?
Presuming you'd be making it more than a day trip!!
Nick.

The 15th International Saab meeting takes place at Beveren, Belgium 2 - 4 August (official opening at 21.00hrs on the Friday and you wont miss much, I think, if you slope off after lunch on the Sunday. Beveren is close to Antwerp.

Accommodation is either camping / caravan or in a hotel adjacent the venue.

hotel info here http://www.vandervalk.com/gb/index.html

You can pay the organisers, Saabfreak, (somehow not an encouraging name) in advance for all elements e.g.

Event info here http://www.saabfreak.be

Delegate rate per person €95
Camping €25 per emplacement
Hotel double room €85 per night

Me and Mrs Gassy are building our summer trip across the channel around the event, spending a couple of days in northern France as well.

Yes I will be there Gassy, in the two-stroke along with Glen and Doris in the Monte Carlo, one of Glens brothers in his Sonett and some more friends in a 900 Turbo. We are also spending time in France before and after the event.Interesting that the Monte Carlo and 900 both have engines in bits at the moment http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif still plenty of time before the trip

Excellent news Peter.

For everyone, can I suggest that when we attend big meetings, such as Steam and Spares, Peterborough & the International, we take steps to make ourselves and our cars easily identifiable. I might consider, for instance, putting a sign on my car - Saabscene "Gassy" A common identifier such as Saabscene and/or the cuddly Elk would be useful.

And obviously Mrs Gassy and I would wear Elk costumes.

Yes, do come and say hello to the Elkprats (sic)....and bring your credit cards

I will have a giant cuddly elk poking out of the roof of my 9000 to aid identification!
