Neil Pearson's character in "Between the lines" the police internal inestigation series, drove a classic 900 - apparently sales of the model increased significantly when this series was shown a few years ago.

Hang on, the most famous and I'm surprised overlooked Saab driver has to be gangster Barry Grant out of Brookside. He had a different 9000 for every day of the week and they were always turbos. he's now a nutcase bobby in the bill.

I watched Swordfish this weekend (John Travolta, Halle Berry, Don Cheadle) - Halle Berry drives a Jag (XKR?) droptop. She also has a Saab 9-3 Convertible.

Going back to the 'Human League' video, there was a program a couple of years ago about them that interviewed Martin Ware and Ian Craig-Marsh of 'Heaven 17' (They being the founder members of the 'Human League').
The interview was conducted in a car park with the two of them sitting on the bonnet of an early eighties 900 Turbo with the reel to reel tape player they used on stage for their first gigs on the bonnet between them.

Just remembered another one. In the first ever series of Bugs they blew a Saab 9000 I think it was to bits outside a tower block after a car chase. Now who's got my anorak

The episode of Inspector Morse with Keith Allen was called 'Day of the Devil' and featured a Black 900T16S. I think, though, that Keith Allen didn't get to drive it, only hide in the back whilst Harriet Walter drove it wildly through the countryside.

erm, my father used to be a teacher, and he has driven 96 two-stroke, 96V4, 99GL and GM900 ...and now he is driving my 99GL to school where he pops in part time.

If memory serves me correctly (!) they also used Saab front seats on a castored base as office chairs on that program too.

And finally, Jimmy Nail did have a c900 (just a 900i I think) in Auf Wiedersehen Pet, it was the most recent series that was on in May/June this year.

There used to be sitcom on Channel 4 (I can't remember the name) written by Daniel Peacock. It was sort of in the Adrian Mole style about a boy in love with a girl at his school. In it Tony 'Baldrick' Robinson played the headmaster who drove a SAAB. It was I think a carb fueled 900 five door. In one episode the kids find web cam footage showing the headmaster reversing the SAAB into another car, checking the damage and when he sees that his car is undamaged (the other car is), he makes sure no-one is watching a re-parks and pretends nothing happened!

Perhaps a bit off the track, but during the recent gun siege in London, a charcoal grey 9-3 was regularly seen in the TV news shots. No doubt one that belonged to a neigbour close to the place of the siege.

The movie Possession, a classic 900 (silver) was driven by Maud (played by Gynneth Paltrow).. she's some kind of historian and apparently it was quite expressly stated in the book of the same name that it HAD to be a Saab.

Also, there's apparently a film out there called Les Rivieres Pourpres that features a Viggen.. a lot. Never managed to get a copy of that movie tho..
