Can anybody out there recommend a good dealer in the West Yorkshire area. I am looking for a 9.3 2.2TiD 5 door.

Well your obvious local is Robert Bowett on Hunslet road (also in Huddersfield) and they have a good reputation. I very nearly bought a car from them last year & they do most of my servicing.

But, shop around & check out the others like Nidd Vale in Harrogate, Humberside at Grimsby & Hull, Brecks In York (not my fave), Alexanders at Stockton, Gordon Lamb in Sheffield, Manchester & there's also dealers in Bolton & Blackburn.

If you want to check out a main dealer's stock then the best way is to do a search on the Saab GB web page (http://www.saab.co.uk) - click on Approved Used.

For independents there is a place in Tockwith (between Wetherby & York) specialist cars (http://www.saab.specialistcars.net) , Saabtec (http://www.saabtec.co.uk) and saabnorthwest (http://www.saabnorthwest.com) in Manc. Search on the autotrader site & these guys will have ads.

And there's bound to be others I don't know about!

Me and my mate visited Robert Bowett. Extremely well educated salesmen. However they were very slow on getting us quotes for the spec we wanted. However given that were bith 25ish in age they probably though we were timewasters with no hope in hell in owning a new saab so we got fobbed off. In the end went with a new dealer in Doncaster "Burrels" who offered us the following deal : £23K on 9-3 SS Vector 2.2TiD with evrything except heated seats :-) very happy with the sale we had the cars aprox 3.5 weeks after signing.

If you go there say you were reffered by Ulfat & Scott i'm sure he'll smile at you :-)

Thanks for your suggestions. I have a three small children. I've not had a good look at the cars yet but what are the back seats like, especially the middle,'98/'99 models.

Thanks

Thanks [/b]How small? You're not going to get 3 child seats in the back, and if you have an infant seat (Stage 0-1, rear facing) you may struggle to get that anywhere but the middle as the seatbelts are not that long at the sides, leaving it a bit tight either side. Depends on your child seat, but the Stage 0-1 seat we have is one of these that fits on the pram chassis & would only go in the middle of the back seat. Very safe, but awkward.

With another arrival due in October I've swapped for a 9-5 & can fit stage 1 on one side plus Stage 2-3 or booster on the other. Could probably squeeze a sub-7 year old in between, though still a bit tight.

You might want to try a 9-5... and they are within your budget (9-5 Aero in last week's Autotrader for £5995 - in the salvage section but claims to be damage free ?!). Just not the woodburners.

Happy hunting
