My 1989 900T8 is intermittantly losing power. The car will cruise perfectly then suddenly lose all power. The power kicks back in several seconds later, although the engine occasionally cuts altogether. The problem only seems to occour at low-medium revs. Also, the car sometimes starts perfectly, but perhaps 70% of the time takes several attempts. Please help!

It is virtually impossible to diagnose that sort of fault without seeing/driving the vehicle. Does the power cut suddenly, or does it splutter/cough first? If it is a sudden cut, then look to the ignition, if it splutters, look at the fuel system. This is a guide only, it is not allways the case!
I would sugest you check all the ignition and related wiring for loose conections, shorts etc, also try changing plugs/leads/disi cap/rotor arm etc. If you still dont get a cure, beg/borrow/steal components like coil, ignition module etc, and substitute them one at a time for your own components, till you find a cure. Good luck.

I would agree with the other Simon sounds electrical. Coil might be the culprit. As the other Simon suggests if possible try and borrow bits from someone elses car to try them out before forking out loads of cash for new parts.
