do all 4 cylinder engines used in Saab 9000s, even the NA engines, have Balance Shafts? If not, from which model year on do those engine have the balance shafts?

All 2.3 litre engines and 2.0 litres from 1995 or so (B204), I think.

I have a 1991 2.3 FPT which has a B234L engine which has balance shafts, is it not all B234's and B204's that have balance shafts?

Read it as "All 2.3 litre engines (and 2.0 litres from 1995 or so (B204), I think)."
