I turned the Carly into a wollowing corner shy beast at the weekend. It's scary
I swapped off the 2 balding pirelli P-zero and P600 tyres and fitted two spares 205/55*16 pirelli p6000's which are also down to about 3 mm.
These are a stop gap while I get some new cheap tyres and to clear some of the many nearly bald tyres i've knocking around here.
Have just ordered 2 Kumho 712's 205/50*ZR 16's to see how they go.
Directional, big centre channel, softish and £110 all in for the pair. They should last 8000m (about 4.5 months)

Not sure which on to take, these tyres are for the carly as I'm running 225's on the Aero.
I really would like to take both, but as I refuse to have a towbar on my cars it isn't going to happen.
I I said earlier, the carly is boosting really hard now, more so than the Aero, althoiugh the aero is still quicker and more linear to 6000. (constant 15-16 psi all the way while the carly's boost starts to drop off higher up.

I know my T25 "loses" boost after 3750 and really only pulls silly boost (although not quite in the Bubbles league) between 2000 and 3000 rpm. It's why I'm budgeting for a bigger turbo, possibly a hybrid or maybe just a TD04 and see how the DI/APC likes that.
Sorry, doing my usual trick and going "off-track".
Mmm, bad tyres ... yes. Err, mine are pretty bad.

Yep, my Carly is peaking at 19-20 ish psi around 2-3000, dropping to 16-17. and then dropping lower further up the rev range.
Maybe I ought to look out for a 2nd hand abbott exhaust (don't think I could warrant a 3" on the carly and the aero) to see if it free's anything further up.
Desparatly trying to finish all my tyres and get a matched set an the carly.

I've just changed the fronts 40 miles agop for a pair of test Kumho 712's.
So far they seem ok but are a little wooly around the corners. I'm hoping that they will bed in and loose their release agents.
I my play wioth the presures a bit and see how it helps.
Ratings are TW 280, traction AA Tempurature A, ZR speed.
