: Pics request for 9-5s (04 Shape) with 18 or 19" wheels
Hi
Has anyone got any pics of Saab 9-5s with 18 or 19" wheels that they could post. There seemt o be loads of Merc, BM and Audis with such sizes but very few Saabs. Is there good reason for this?
The standard 17s on mine look a bit lost on such a big car!
mark e 01-19-2011, 07:32 AM Not 04 but 03 for a start:

Thanks, that's perfect.
Are they a standard Saab rim or aftermarket?
mark e 01-19-2011, 07:46 AM They are Hirsch, the official Saab tuner. Not quite standard, but not quite aftermarket either. I should have said they are 18s.
sgould 01-19-2011, 08:55 AM Summer and winter 18 inch wheels here - all photos with the Hirsch suspension fitted and the bigger Hirsch brakes. 4 pot 322mm on the 02 car. 345mm single caliper on the 2007 estate:
This lot are the same as Mark's (8 x 18 wheels) on my old 2002 car - same as 04 except for the front spoiler:

And on my current 2007 9-5 - again it's basically the same chassis as the 04 car:

Great pics, thanks. Like the Hirsch ones on the silver car most of all, but I reckon even 18s look a slight bit too small.
I reckon aftermarket 19s might have to be the order of the day for summer use then back to the 17s for winter.
mark e 01-19-2011, 02:00 PM I don't think the 9-5 works with 19" wheels- ride comfort is compromised too much. The overall wheel size isn't that great and to fit a 19" tyre you'd be looking at sometthing like a 35 profile. Count your fillings now!
It was, after all, only ever intended to have 17" wheels when first designed.

Esp/y given the condition of UK roads now, that must be right.
deano93tid 01-20-2011, 04:59 AM If I had the money I would like to have a set of these on mine, maybe 18's rather than 19's though.

OOOO!
Now they ARE nice. Especially seeing as my car is black as well!
Take your points though about the 19s. Roads are a bit rough round here and it might well compromise ride quality too much. Would look good tho!
deano93tid 01-20-2011, 05:47 AM 25ST you haven't mentioned 20" wheels

They will most certainly fill the arches.
Elkparts says:
Tested and approved by Saab.
Suitable for the car's original tyres. ( I look forward to fitting my 225/45/17s to them, then...)
Reinforce the car's sportiness.
Improves driveability and appearance. (Depends how you define 'driveability', I suppose. The ride is none
too good on 17-inchers)
