I've got an 05 1.9 Tid Vector (150). Replaced the egr valve due to reduced performance etc and it's worked a treat, like a new car. But I understand it can be a recurring problem. From what I've read there was a new design egr valve on back order in 2008, my question is do these new ones do the trick? How reliable are they etc.

Is there a specific style of driving that preserves them, and whats everyones opinions on blanking it.
