Hi Guys,

I've acquired a beautiful black 1987 900i - good condition and runs like a dream apart from terrible banging on the rear offside. It looks like the rubber bush has come away or disintegrated ( a bit rusty around the top) and it is well loose.

Any idea if this is easily fixable, does the whole spring need to be taken out with special tools or is it something that can be tackled by a novice?

Thanks

The rear bushes aren't a total nightmare job, but they're not exactly roadside-easy. You'll really want to go through and replace the lot, plus almost certainly dampers & springs.

If you can get sufficient access under the back end, and have access to a press and a decent selection of mandrels, it's a couple of hours work.
