Where is the best place to jack from when lifting onto axle stands working on the premise that I will be putting the axle stands under the jacking points and therefore can't use those?
Thanks

Under the middle of the front cross member right where there is a big dimple. I use a piece of 3"x 3" timber with a piece cut out placed on top of the jack pad to accomodate the dimple and spread the load a bit better. At the rear it is right under the strengthening plate for the tow hitch. Just make sure you have a high lift jack and/or some bits of timber on the jack pad cos you need to raise the car to a frightening angle in order to get stands under the jacking points . When you have done that the rear of the car is quite low which may give you a problem getting enough lift if you then want to put the car on 4 stands. Depends on your jack design.

Important point is NOT go jack under the rear axle tube, it can bend! I jack using a trolley jack under the jacking points with a piece of timber which fits between the side slots, avoiding damage for when I might need to use the car jack. I place the axle stands under the plate for the wishbone rear bushes at the and the chassis box sections with a timber pad.
