wonder if anyone can help me with this mysterious noise, sounds almost like static you get from a radio thats not tuned in. i hear it when i switch off the engine and even when the key is removed. seems to be coming from area behind glove box, although as always with these things it seems almost impossible to tie down properly. seems to last for at least 4 or 5 minutes after everything is switched off, and aerial has gone back down.
wonder if its a relay or something, checked the headlight washer/wiper as mentioned in earlier post and all is working well.
seems strange that it crackles on for so long after everything is switched off and key is removed.

probably nothing important, but just one of those things that you just want to know what the hell it is.

anyway............thanks in advance for any ideas/advice.

cheers
andy

Hi, Sounds like the cabin air temperature sensor to me. It is located in the dash, where the switches or blanks are for the heated seats, it has a round grill in the front of it. If you pop it out and turn it round i.e. the bottom is now at the top, it often stops that annoying noise. Failing that it will have to be replaced. It contains a small fan that keeps running after the ignition is turned off. Hope this helps.
